After-School Art Class: Be Creative

WHEN: Wednesday afternoons, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.

Winter Session: January 27 - March 3, 2010                                                                                                Spring Session: March 17 - April 28, 2010; no class April 7


WHERE: Classes will be held in the studio of the Asheville Art Museum at 2 South Pack Square in downtown Asheville.

COST:  $50 per session for Museum members
             $60 per session for non-members

Pre-registration is required.

WHO: Students in grades 5 - 8 are invited to apply. There is no need for previous art experience and beginners are welcome. Financial aid is available by calling 828.253.3227, ext. 122 and requesting an application form.

WHAT: In this six-week session students will use their imagination and a wide range of materials to create original works of art. Classes are held in the Asheville Art Museum's WNC Art Resource Center's studio. Visits to the Museum's permanent collection and special exhibitions and all materials necessary for the class are included.

Winter Session: Students will explore positive and negative space to create drawings and transform them into sculpture.

Spring Session: Students will explore portraiture and illustration.
