The Asheville Art Museum invites you on the popular, annual Urban Loft + Art Tour in downtown Asheville on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Friends of the Museum and downtown residents open their homes for a special tour of Asheville’s stunning — and often mysterious — downtown lofts. This guided tour takes visitors into Asheville’s urban homes to see the amazing incorporation of art and city living.

Come view lofts in buildings such as the Aston, Battery Park Condominiums, 60 Haywood, 12 South Lexington, the Piedmont Building and more! These lofts feature artworks by local artists such as Randy Shull, Sam Stark and Genie Maples, as well as artworks by regional artists such as Dan Smith, Signe Grushovenko, Jane Filer and Ron Phillips! This promises to be a fascinating tour.

“We’re so excited about this year’s tour. This loft tour will give an inside look at many different styles of urban living. There is everything from a modern, contemporary look to a traditional home setting. The artwork is amazing and the design of the lofts is equally exquisite,” says Hillary Frye, Asheville Art Museum Special Events Coordinator.

See some of Asheville’s most exciting residential lofts and enjoy a reception after this popular walking tour. The reception for the Urban Loft + Art Tour 2009 will be held at “The Urban Living Studio” A Private Mountain Communities Exclusive with interior design by Design Partners. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Tickets are $55 for non-Members and $50 for Museum Members. Call 828.253.3227 now to reserve your place for this event. lofts_2009_guggenheim_dining
