Henry Curtis Ahl

Henry Curtis Ahl (12/30/1905-1996) was born in Springfield, Massachusetts.  His parents, artists Henry Hammond Ahl and Eleanor Curtis Ahl, encouraged their son to pursue art, and he became an accomplished painter, illustrator, and writer.  He frequently depicted pseudo-impressionistic landscapes and seascapes that were inspired by his surroundings.  Unlike his father, Henry Curtis Ahl showed little interest in religious paintings or portrature.  The younger Ahl preferred a lighter palette and painting landscapes.
