Jack Markow (1905-1983) was born in London, England. He studied at the Art Students League and worked as a painter, cartoonist, lithographer, designer, and illustrator. He was an artist for the W.P.A. program in the 1930s. He participated in several exhibitions, including ones at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Corcoran, the Pennsylvania Academy, and the American Group.
