Lisa Thomen ( - ) grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, and currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She earned her BA degree from Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, in 1973. In the summer of 1972, Thomen attended a summer art program at Boston University in Tanglewood, Massachusetts. Thomen has taken master classes with Wayne Thiebaud and Nathan Oliviera at the Santa Fe Institute of Fine Arts. Her work can be found in many private collections in New Mexico, London, New York, North Carolina and Morocco. Thomen exhibited in a solo exhibition entitled "The End of the Line" at the Asheville Art Museum in 1992. Her oil paintings depict salvaged artifacts found in an Albuquerque shop yard of the Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad.
