Naomi Boretz (1935- ) is a painter who uses a variety of media. Her works have been widely exhibited, and are in the collections of the Hudson River Museum, the Roerich Museum (N.Y.), the Hove Museum of Art (England), the Glasgow Museum (Scotland), and New York University. She was the recipient of the Water Color Award from the Brooklyn Museum in 1971, and has been named a Fellow by the Virginia Center for Creative Arts (1973, 1980) and the Ossabaw Foundation (1975). Boretz is listed in both "Who's Who in American Art" and "Who's Who of American Women." The drawing in the Asheville Art Museum's collection, entitled "Mountain Streams," was inspired a driving vacation that the artist made through North Carolina and is based on her recollections of the countryside.
