Thelma Bennett (05/31/1910-09/01/1974) studied at Salem College and The Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston Salem. N.C. and at the University of Alabama. Her graphics, color graphics, and watercolors have been displayed in exhibition venues such as the art gallery of Winston-Salem and Charlotte's Mint Museum in 1967. Throughout the 1960's Bennet earned a number of awards, several of the more auspicious being the Pickrell Silver Cup for graphics as well as the King Tray Cup for color graphics at the Southport Art Festival of 1962. She was also granted the Purchase Award at the 1965 North Carolina Artists Exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
