Welcome to the Asheville Art Museum’s new Web site

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the staff of
the Asheville Art Museum, welcome to our newly
redesigned Web site.

At the Asheville Art Museum, we connect with our
community through exciting special exhibitions, our
unique collections and a vast array of arts based,
entertaining and illuminating, educational programs
for children and adults.

We welcome residents and visitors to our area and hope that the launch of
this new Web site will deepen our connection to you by bringing you more
in depth and engaging arts information and making our wealth of resources
more accessible.

The Asheville Art Museum collects American Art from the 20th and 21st century,
with a particular focus on art and artists with a connection to Western North
Carolina and our surrounding regions.

We are very excited to bring part of our ever-growing permanent collection to
you online. The database, which will be periodically updated, allows for perusal
and research of our collection right from your desktop. We will also be showcasing
special exhibitions in more depth sometimes in database form. Make It New:
Western North Carolina Artists Exhibition 2007 Artists Registry will not
only showcase art and artists in the juried show, but will include work from
every artist who submitted.

Finally, I am pleased that we’re now able to offer a way for the public to sign up
for Museum Membership, our new e-newsletter, make donations, register their
children for art camps and shop our Museum store online. Plus we have more
information than ever before about our programs.

We hope you’ll use our new and improved site to plan your visit to the Museum and
become acquainted with our exhibitions, programs, events and news.
