Collections Management Volunteers
Collections Management Volunteers assist the curatorial team with the documentation and care of the Museum’s Permanent Collection of 20th- and 21st-century American art. Assistance is especially needed with entering information and images into the EmbARK collections database as part of a larger project to make more collections information available online to the general public. Volunteers should be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with good computer skills and a knack for precision. A commitment of at least three hours each week on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday is desired.
This opportunity is excellent for college-level students interested in a museum career to develop their skills in database management, museum record-keeping, art-handling, condition-reporting, and inventory procedures. This is a volunteer position and is not eligible for school credit.
If you are interested in becoming a collections management volunteer, please return a completed volunteer application form to Kristi McMillan, Adult Programs Manager, or call 828.253.3227 x122 to learn more.
