July 12: Lunchtime Art Break in “A Sense of Balance: The Sculpture of Stoney Lamar” (Docent-led)« Back to Events
The Museum presents Lunchtime Art Breaks, a series of gallery talks, guided tours and special presentations designed to inform and engage visitors in dialogue with Museum staff, docents, artists and other guest presenters. Art Breaks offer an affordable and convenient mid-day break for visitors to enjoy new experiences in the Museum’s galleries, usually including a guided tour and discussion of a current exhibition.
On July 12, visitors will enjoy a Docent-guided tour of current works on view in A Sense of Balance: The Sculpture of Stoney Lamar. Artist William Stoney Lamar has contributed exceptional skill and vision to the world of wood turning for over 25 years. The artist’s sculpture is created primarily through a unique approach to multi-axial lathe work, giving his pieces a distinct sense of line and movement unlike other works of turned wood.
