Art Adventurers will visit Cherokee and experience a day of art, music and history. After traveling from Asheville via motorcoach, we will begin the day at Oconaluftee Indian Village and tour the authentic working Village with dwellings, residents, musicians and artisans right out of the 1760s. Next we will lunch on our own at Harrah’s Casino, taking an opportunity to look at some of the Cherokee art works they have on display. After lunch, we will head to Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual to look at their traditional and contemporary Cherokee art collection, as well as witness live demonstrations by local artists. Finally, we will end the day at The Museum of the Cherokee Indian, learning about the history and culture of the Cherokee peoples via interactive displays. This tour will be led by Adult Programs Manager Candace Reilly and Curator Frank Thomson.

Held in conjunction with Hands, Heart, Mind: Cherokee Artistry.
