At first denounced as a madman, Brunelleschi reinvented the field of architecture amid plagues, wars and political feuds. Ross King brings to life the intrigue surrounding the dome’s 28-year design and construction, and crafts an interesting portrait of The Duomo and the city of Florence, Italy.
