Frances Mulhall Achiles Library
Free with Membership or Museum Admission
Pop into our monthly book discussion where we read and discuss books that relate to artwork in our galleries. Moderated by a member of the Museum’s staff or a volunteer, we exchange ideas and learning about books, art and each other! We meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Museum’s Library and venture out into the galleries as well. Bring your copy of the book. Each book is available for purchase through the Museum Shop as well as area bookstores. Suggestions for future books are most welcome! For information, contact Nancy Sokolove, Adult Programs Manager at 828.253.3227, ext. 120 or nsokolove@ashevilleart.org.

Leaving Van Gogh: A Novel
by Carol Wallace
Narrated by the doctor who cared for him in the Summer of 1890, Leaving Van Gogh is a fictionalized portrait of the last months of Vincent Van Gogh’s life. During that time Van Gogh was still largely unknown, despite creating art that would become some of the most famous in the world. The story revolves around his relationship with his doctor, Dr.Gachet, that may or may not have destroyed him.
