Ken Burns: Jazz

During weekends in July and August, the Museum will screen the PBS Jazz series by Ken Burns. Jazz celebrates America’s greatest original art form. The ten-part documentary opens at the dawn of the 20th century, incorporating American culture and historical events that interact directly with the music. Each two-hour episode of the ten episodes of Jazz covers a different era. From the 1890s through the ferment of the Harlem Renaissance and the Jazz Age, to the Great Depression, New Deal, World War II and beyond. Rated: NR. 2 hours/each episode.
