Flux Cuts: Experiments in Film

Fifty years ago, artist George Maciunas organized a group of artists into a movement called Fluxus, meaning “flow” in Latin. This international art movement originated with avant-garde music and has been expressed through publications, objects, film and performances. The movement was largely influenced by the Dada movement of the 1920s and artist Marcel Duchamp, as well as artist and composer John Cage and the Black Mountain College “Happenings” he led and inspired.
