Artist William Wegman is internationally recognized for his work in photography, painting, drawing and video art. He is best known for his engaging and humorous photographs of Weimaraners as seen in the current exhibition, William Wegman: Cubism and Other-isms. While teaching at California State University, Long Beach in the 1970s, Wegman acquired his first and most famous of the dogs he has photographed, a Weimaraner he named Man Ray (after the famed artist and photographer). In addition to his photos, Wegman’s videos, paintings and drawings have been widely exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the world. Please join us as William Wegman talks about his work and presents images and video from his nearly 50-year career.
This event is held in conjunction with William Wegman: Cubism and Other-isms.
