Meet at the Folk Art Center (Milepost 382, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville 28805)

The Folk Art Center, home to the Southern Highland Craft Guild, showcases the finest in traditional and contemporary crafts of the Southern Appalachians. Participants learn more about the history of the Guild as well as current work through a behind-the-scenes tour of the center’s three galleries, library, craft shop, art-storage areas, and archives with Curator Nikki Josheff and Librarian Deb Schillo. An exclusive artist demonstration with Barbara Miller, whose weavings are featured in Appalachian Innovators, ends the morning. Light refreshments are provided.

Space is limited; pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, click here or call 828.253.3227, ext. 122.

Planned in partnership with the Southern Highland Craft Guild, in conjunction with Appalachian Innovators: Women Makers in the Southern Highland Craft Guild, 1930-2000.
