Meet at Biltmore United Methodist Church (376 Hendersonville Road, Asheville 28803)

Ko Eun (Grace) Lee performs a program exploring the beauty of artistic virtuosity. Through selected Nocturnes by Frédéric Chopin and Etudes by Claude Debussy, Variations on a Theme of Paganini Book 1 by Johannes Brahms, and Gargoyles, Op. 29 by Lowell Liebermann, she shows how each composer’s idiomatic pianism reflects distinctive technical dexterity and musical characteristics.

Lee is an avid performer, educator, and conference lecturer across the U.S. She holds a doctorate of musical arts in piano performance and a post-master’s certificate in music theory pedagogy from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; a master of music from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music; and a bachelor of music and artist diploma from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has performed in master classes of internationally renowned pianists Kevin Kenner, Boaz Sharon, William Westney, Simone Dinnerstein, Jacques Després, Pascal Rogé, Jeremy Denk, Dror Biran, Joel Hastings, André Watts, and Byron Janis.

Lee, a South Korean native, currently resides in Asheville. She recently joined Brevard College and Mars Hill University as an adjunct piano faculty member, and also teaches at the Academy for the Arts at First Baptist Church of Asheville. She is an active member of Asheville Area Piano Forum, Music Teachers National Association, College Music Society, and Suzuki Association of the Americas.

Pianoforte concerts fill up quickly; tickets are available at the door.
