The Philadelphia Story (1940)

APRIL 6 + 7, 2013 (2:00 p.m. daily)

Originally a hit Broadway play, this classic 1940 film features the legendary talents of Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart and was nominated for six major Academy Awards, for which it won two. Filmed in 1940, the story follows the days leading up to the wedding of divorced socialite Tracy Lord (Hepburn) and affords a view into the world of the privileged upper class society in Philadelphia.

This film screening is held in conjunction with the exhibition The Philadelphia Story: Contemporary Figurative Work Drawn from the Academy.
