Pop, Paint, Print!
MAY 12 – Friday, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $65 Museum Members, $75 non-members (includes all materials)

Pop artists such as Andy Warhol and James Rosenquist combined popular imagery and a variety of artistic media to create iconic artworks that both challenged and celebrated American culture. In this afternoon workshop, students are introduced to Pop Art and experiment with painting and photo emulsion screenprinting. Students superimpose their own silkscreen stencil onto an acrylic painting to create a mixed-media Pop masterpiece.

Richmond Smith has a BFA in studio art (painting, sculpture) and is a licensed art educator. He considers himself a teacher first but also a mixed media conceptual artist, poet, and painter. He has taught art for over a decade to various age groups in schools, private classes, and alternative learning spaces.

Space is limited; registration deadline May 4. To register online, click here; for more information or to register by phone, call 828.253.3227 x122.
