Act I, Scene VI
Jos Vandermeer (05/08/1934-05/19/2000) was born in Belgium. After studying in Nijmegen, Holland, he emigrated to the United States in 1960. Vandermeer received a BA from Mars Hill College and an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He was the head of the art department of the Asheville School for seven years and was a professor of art at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Vandermeer is both a painter and collage artist, and his works have been featured in several exhibitions in the Asheville area, including the Walker Arts Center at the Asheville School and the October Show of the Asheville Art Museum - both in 1985. Additionally, Vandermeer had two pieces featured in the Asheville Art Museum's 1990 'Mountain Arts Consortium' show.
