Blaine Eldridge (11/04//1941-06/18/2012) was born in Livingston, Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from George Peabody University in Nashville, TN, then his Masters in Fine Arts from University of Georgia. While at the University of Georgia, Eldridge tried blowing glass for the first time. His interest in that medium has continued since. He served in the Army from 1967 to 1969. Then he began teaching at Western Carolina University and lives in Sylva, North Carolina. He owned Off Hands Glass Shop in Dillsboro, NC. He worked with glass blowing and stained glass. Eldridge served as the President of the Jackson County Arts Council. He died after a long fight with cancer.
