Burlon B. Craig

Burlon B. Craig (1914-2002) is one of the major figures in contemporary folk pottery and perhaps the best known of the Catawba valley potters. Craig started with ceramics as a teenager and worked for various potters until the end of the 1930s. After serving in World War II, he permanently settled in the Catawba Valley of North Carolina and revitalized the almost extinct folk pottery tradition in that area.
