Robert Stoetzer (08/14/1938- ) was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. He received an M.F.A. from the University of Miami in Coral Gables in 1968. Stoetzer has been an Instructor of Art at Dade County Schools (1961-65), an Instructor of Sculpture at the Grove House School (1962-65), and an Instructor of Sculpture at The Miami Art Center (1965-69). He had a graduate teaching fellowship at the University of Miami from 1966 to 1968, and was an adjunct faculty member of the Miami-Dade Community College in 1964. In 1976 and 1978 Stoetzer was an Instructor in Sculpture at the Penland School of Crafts. He has also been a faculty member at Goddard College and Florida International University. He has worked as a conservator for museums and private collectors, especially in the area of pre-Columbian art. His installations have been featured in the Epcot Center, Duke University Museum, The Pink Palace in Tennessee, and other locations. He is living and working in Miami, Florida.
