Last Day of Summer
Charles Basham (08/01/1952- ) was born in Wadsworth, Ohio,. He lives on his family's 100 acre farm where he receives most of his inspiration. His artwork has a truly American feel, and reveals a positive view of nature. His landscapes have clear, vivid colors, and depict an idyllic view of nature far removed from the realities of city life. After teaching art for almost a decade, he retired in order to devote time to painting. Basham was awarded an Ohio Arts Council individual artist's fellowship and his works have been included in many exhibitions throughout Ohio and the southern United States from the early 1980s onward. His works are in the permanent collection of numerous museums and corporations including the Mint Museum in Charlotte NC, R.J. Reynolds Corporation, NationsBank, and the Greenville Museum of Art, NC. He is currently living and working in Kent, Ohio.
