Susan Page (1953- ) is a photographer whose work deals with women and women’s issues. She often uses video cameras or audio tapes to record her interviews with the subjects of the photographs. Her subjects have ranged from African-American textile workers in North Carolina to Augustine nuns in Italy to women in Israel. Her photographic projects have received numerous awards and grants including a Project Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council for her “Working Women” series and a Fulbright Travel Grant to document the importance of religion in the ever day lives of Italians. She has also won a Charlotte Arts and Science Counsel Emerging Artist Grant, an award from the National Endowment of the Arts and an award from the Appalachian Environmental Art Center.
