Bernar Venet

Bernar Venet (1941 - ) was born in Château-Arnoux, France. In 1958, he studied for one year at the Villa Thiole, the municipal art school of the city of Nice. The next year, he was employed as a stage designer for the Nice City Opera. In 1964, his work was included in the Salon Comparaisons at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. Venet created a ballet, Graduation, to be danced on a vertical plane in 1966 and begun making new work based on the use of mathematical diagrams.
