David Appleman (05/09/1943- ) was born in Mansfield, Ohio. He is both a designer and painter, whose accomplishments are predominated by polymers, collograph and acrylic. His painting is largely characterized by bold colors. Appleman's career has been illustrious and widely successful. In 1977 his works were featured at Charlotte's Mint Museum as part of the Piedmont Painting and Sculpture Exhibition. Additionally he has won purchase awards from the 16th annual exhibition of the the Guild of South Carolina Artists at Charleston's Gibbes Gallery, the Greenville Museum, and the Florence Museum. His paintings are permanently exhibited at the Westinghouse Corporation, the South Carolina Pee Dee State Bank, and are represented in the South Carolina State Art Collections. He has been a member of the Guild of South Carolina Artists, the Greenville Artists Guild, as well as the Greenville Artists' Association. Appleman served as the chairman of the division art at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina.
