The Lobsterman’s Daughter
Dennis Kardon (1950- ) was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He works in various media including painting, printing, and mixed media. Between 1977 and 1988 he participated in six solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions. Kardon's work has been featured in several solo exhibitions since 1988, including "A Conversation with Roccocco Mirrors" at A/D in New York in 1991. This exhibition consisted of mirrors set into frames made with mixed media that included clay, wood, gesso and chalk. His work was included in nine group exhibitions from 1999 to 2000 in New York, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Germany, Greece, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Boston. Kardon has works in several different public and private collections including: the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, the New Museum in New York, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Jewish Museum.
