The Recorder Player
Ann Carter Pollard (1930- ) born in Winston-Salem, NC. She is a graphic artist, printmaker and painter. In 1964 she won honorable mention for a print in the Boston Printmakers Annual Exhibition. During 1965 she earned an award at the Winston-Salem Gallery of Fine Arts, and she was invited to participate in the North Carolina Artists Exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Additionally she took the Purchase Award at Greensboro's Weatherspoon Gallery in 1967, where her work remains on permanent display. Several universities nation-wide have chosen her prints to feature full-time, including Appalachian State University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, University of Winsconsin, and the State University of New York. Pollard later took a position in the art department of Wake Forest University.
