Ralph Burns (1944- ) was born in New Orleans. He currently lives in Asheville, NC. He is a photographer known for his 35mm black and white photographs. Many of his images depict the South and motifs of southern culture appear in his work, such as fundamentalist religious ceremonies, festivals and Elvis fans. He has also traveled around the world making photographs of cultural icons, street scenes and the religious activities of various peoples and cultures.
