Paul Georges (1923-04/17/2002) was born in Portland, Oregon. Georges's artwork explores the struggle between man and woman, frequently utilizing allegorical themes. He was also well known for his lush landscapes, flowers, and self-portraits. He has received numerous awards, such as the Fifth International Hallmark Purchase Award and a painting award from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. Georges has participated in several solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States. His works are in the collections of such institutions as the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
