Asheville Art Museum Art Adventurers indulge in “Collections and Obsessions” |
|
ASHEVILLE, NC — The
Asheville Art
Museum’s Art Adventurers took another exciting day trip on
Sunday, January 13, 2008 with the popular “Collections & Obsessions” tour of select private Asheville art collections.
Several fascinating collections were chosen for the event,
including those consisting of quilts, contemporary art, vintage jewelry and
photography. The day ended with a reception at the Bella
VistaArtGallery in Biltmore Village
“I thought there was a lot of variety, and as always the
staff and volunteer coordinators are very
well organized and kept the trip on time,” said Art Adventurer Dr. Cam Collins.
“I particularly liked the photographs and the quilts, but the jewelry was also
special.
One can collect items of art and not always need massive amounts of
space. This trip really showcased that and I thank people for opening their
homes to us."
On April 8, 2008
the Art Adventurers will be discovering “Henderson’s Hidden Gems”
with a visit to ceramicist Michael Sherrill’s studio, the Kellogg Center of
Craft, Creativity &
Design, a private folk art collection and more. A
private wine and cheese reception at the
Wickwire fine art / folk gallery will
close the day.
Space is limited, so make your reservations today. The reservation deadline is April
1 and no refunds will be available after this date.
