Three local businesses enroll in Corporate Partners Program
ASHEVILLE, NC — The Asheville Art Museum is proud to announce that UBS Financial, A.G. Edwards and Sons and The Market Place Restaurant are the first three members of the Museum's Corporate Partners Program.

The Corporate Partners Program is an annual membership program designed to provide the Museum’s partners in business with well-rounded access to the Museum’s permanent collection, exhibitions, educational programs and networking opportunities while providing crucial operating support.

These corporate members afford a unique marketing opportunity for companies to serve a desired demographic, as well as their own clients and employees, while supporting the Museum’s highly visible exhibitions and public educational programs.

“Strategic philanthropy is at the heart of the Asheville Art Museum’s Corporate Partners Program,” said Asheville Art Museum Executive Pamela Myers. “We work closely with our corporate supporters to ensure that by building partnerships we can provide valuable benefits to the community, increase a business’s visibility with key constituents and provide unique entertainment, educational and volunteer opportunities to their employees and clients.”

As the only art museum serving all 24 counties of Western North Carolina, the Asheville Art Museum is proud to be a major contributor to the region’s cultural and educational landscape, economic vitality and quality of life.

Annual revenue from the Corporate Partners Program will support the Museum’s ongoing operations and educational initiatives. Museum programming reaches all segments of the population through a variety of offerings including school tours, family workshops, summer and winter art camps, after school programs, domestic and international travel programs, independent film and video screenings, informal lectures, artist presentations and gallery talks.

"Our commitment to clients flows over to our commitment to the Asheville community,” said James Torpey, Vice-President of Investments for UBS Financial Services in Asheville. “We feel that the Asheville Art Museum exemplifies a vision and commitment to Western North Carolina that not only enhances our lives, but gives us the opportunity to awaken our spirits through the visual medium."

Mark Rosenstein, owner and general manager of The Market Place Restaurant and Wine Bar in downtown Asheville, said he felt the same way.

“The health and vibrancy of a community is reflected in how well that community supports the arts,” Rosenstein said. “We believe that the arts are essential and represent one of those intangibles of a rich life. Like the 'table', participation in the arts is another way of sharing community.”

A.G. Edwards and Sons Branch Manager and Vice President of Investments Bill Pomeroy agreed.

“At A.G. Edwards we offer prudent investment advice,” Pomeroy said. “We believe that a smart investment is an investment in the long term viability of the Asheville Art Museum. If Asheville is the Paris of the South, then this is our Louvre."
