We have an exciting variety of auction items up for bid at our Gala this year.

Please click here to view a selection of the items that will be up for bid!

We are continuing to update the page as we confirm the lots.

This year we are excited to support a young artist, local to the Western North Carolina Region. Yanka Kostova has been a part of the Asheville Art Museum’s Scholastics Program for many years. We are thrilled to present one of her latest pieces as the sole silent auction lot for the evening. Bid on this beautiful work throughout the event (Absentee pre-bids are also encouraged and accepted). The winning bidder will be announced during the presentation of the Fund-The-Need Lot of the Live Auction.

Yanka Kostova is a visual artist working primarily in painting and drawing, based in Brooklyn, New York and Asheville, North Carolina. She is an alum of Carolina Day School and Interlochen Arts Academy, and has studied under Professor Lara Nguyen at Warren Wilson College. She currently studies painting in the BFA program at Pratt Institute and is the recipient of multiple Scholastic awards and a Presidential Merit-Based Scholarship, as well as a nominee for the Pratt Foundation Merit Scholarship Award.

The Museum was thrilled to have Kostova’s work on view in its 2016 WNC Regional Scholastic Art Awards exhibition. Kostova was the recipient of a Scholastic Gold Key award and an American Vision Award nomination.

Yanka Kostova, Bird on a Wire, 2016, graphite on paper, 17 in x 14 inches.

Proceeds from the Silent Auction bidding will go to support Yanka in her budding artist career. She has generously decided to gift 25% of those proceeds back to the Museum to continue supporting budding new artists. Please place a bid and join in supporting one of our aspiring and talented artists as she goes off to begin her own career!

During our Live Auction you will have the opportunity to participate in our Fund-the-Need Lot, presented as the final auction item of the evening. For this lot we encourage you to raise your paddle at the level/s of your choice and give a gift that will help support keeping art vibrant, now and in future generations!

All contributions to the Fund-The-Need lot are fully tax deductible.
