Common Ground: Searching for Self in the Permanent Collection
wooten

Ongoing

2nd floor galleries

The theme of human identity is explored through works of art in all media. The exhibition encompasses four galleries and four focus areas: Labor and Leisure: Activities That Define Us, Portraits: The Face in a Crowd, Environment: A Place in the Landscape and Narrative: Telling Stories Through Pictures.

This exhibition has been reinstalled with new acquisitions and works on paper, so be sure to take a second look at Common Ground. The exhibition is possible by the support of a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.

The exhibition is organized by the Asheville Art Museum and guest curated by Terrie Sultan and Suzanne Isken.
