Donald Sexauer (1932-10/16/2003) was a printmaker and draughtsman. He taught for many years in the art department of Eastern Carolina University. His work has won national acclaim at a host of exhibitions for well over two decades. In 1966 he was featured at the 140th Annual National Academy of Design, and two years later in 1968 his work formed a segment of the 'Dixie Annual', a traveling exhibition sponsored by the Montgomery, Alabama Museum of Fine Arts. Later in 1971 his prints were shown at the San Diego Print Exhibition. He has also exhibited at Rocky Mount Art Center, NC; Washington and Lee University, Lexington, VA; St. John's Museum, Wilmington, NC, and the Davidson County Art Museum, Lexington, NC. His work is in the permanent collections of the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, NC; Museum of Fine Art, Montgomery, AL; Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR; University of Wyoming Art Museum, and the National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC.
