The Asheville Art Museum (AAM) is delighted to announce an open call inviting artists who live and work in the Helene-affected Appalachia region to participate in the upcoming exhibition, Asheville Strong: Celebrating Art and Community After Hurricane Helene, to be on view from February 13-May 5, 2025 in the Appleby Foundation Exhibition Hall on the Museum’s main floor. AAM was founded by a group of passionate artists in 1948 with a mission, in part, to share and promote the art of Western North Carolina (WNC). Carrying on that legacy, this special, non-juried exhibition will celebrate the strength and diversity of our regional arts community acknowledging the significant impact of Hurricane Helene on the lives of artists across Southern Appalachia. Our aim is to provide an opportunity and venue for impacted artists to showcase their work, connect with each other and collectors, and join together in a collective act of resilience.

Inclusion in Asheville Strong: Celebrating Art and Community After Hurricane Helene will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The call will remain open until maximum space limitations are reached, as determined by AAM. The Museum is not authorized to facilitate sales on behalf of exhibiting artists but will feature artists’ preferred contact information alongside their work.
