The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. Two decades later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designate the Day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are an urgent call for action and provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet.
Building Culture of Peace rests on the belief that we must treat others as we wish to be treated. A Culture of Peace includes being at peace with oneself, others and the natural world.
