Lydia See is an artist, educator, and curator of art and archives. As founder and director of Engaging Collections, See works towards democratization and equity within archives, libraries, and special collections by collaborating with creatives to amplify underrepresented legacies hiding in public collections. As the Museum’s fall 2020 curatorial fellow processing the Black Mountain College Dreier Collection, See is cataloguing and contextualizing over 400 documents given to the Museum by Dreier’s family. See will discuss the process of cataloguing and interpreting these materials, share some previously unseen ephemera from the collection, and speak on the intersections of art, archives, and community.
