In 2017, the Museum invited David Huff to photograph the construction of the new Asheville Art Museum. Construction sites are exciting places bustling with unfamiliar sights, sounds, and activity. As one of two photographers-in-residence, Huff had exclusive access to the building and workers who made this cultural anchor in the Asheville community a reality. By documenting their work, he sought to honor these men and women and to capture an important milestone in the Museum’s history. Join us as Huff shares some of his work, speaks about his experience, and offers insight into the construction process from the point of view of a photographer.
