Born in Hamilton, Bermuda and raised in Tennessee, Margaret Curtis is a feminist artist whose multilayered, narrative paintings address power dynamics on both the individual and societal level. Curtis’s work Trial by Fire: The Body Politic was featured in the Museum’s inaugural exhibition, Appalachia Now! An Interdisciplinary Survey of Contemporary Art in Southern Appalachia. Join us for a fascinating presentation on her work.
