
International Peace Day Celebration with Asheville School
Please join us in a celebration of the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2022.
10 am – 1 pm
12:00 Moment of Silence and performance
Inform, Involve, and Inspire the movement toward peace.
Inform: Learn about the United Nations International Day of Peace and engage with local organizations working to better our Asheville community.
Involve: Get creative with us to fold cranes, add your definition of peace to a collaborative collage, share the peace with buttons for you and a friend.
Inspire: Join in a moment of silence at noon, followed by poetry, music, and dance in the plaza.
Organized by students from Asheville School in partnership with the Asheville Art Museum.
ABOUT INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21. The United Nations’ General Assembly has declared it as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace by observing 24 hours of non-violence and ceasefire. Click here to read more.
Performances
