In the late 1950s, Jasper Johns emerged as a pre-eminent force on the American art scene, laying the groundwork for both Pop art and Minimalism. Today, as his prints and paintings set record prices at auction, the meaning of his works, his imagery and his changing style continue to generate controversy. This film provides a rare look at the life, career and inspiration of this unique artist.
