FEBRUARY 8, 15, 22 & MARCH 1 (make-up, if needed: MARCH 8)—Mondays, 6–8pm

In this four-part class, experiment with paper and print materials and processes. Explore a range of surface techniques to create unique pieces of paper that can be used for collage and book arts or as individual works of art. Make paste papers and use Gelli printing plates to create monoprints with layers of color, pattern, and textures using found objects.

Instructor Sharon McRorie has been the Museum’s education programs manager since 2001. In this role, she designs and implements studio programs for all ages including afterschool, outreach, and grant-funded arts education for pre-K–12 students, and multi- and inter-generational learning opportunities. She is also a working metalsmith and versatile artist engaging in a wide array of media. She holds an undergraduate degree in fine arts from the University of Georgia and teaching certification from UNC Asheville.

Please note:

  • This Adult Studio is held indoors in the Museum’s John & Robyn Horn Education Center.
  • Space is limited to small groups of up to six students; face coverings and social distancing are required.
