Guided Tours for Small Groups of Adults
Small groups of 5–20 adults are invited to schedule a guided tour of the Museum's Collection or one of our special exhibitions. Our inquiry-based group tours, led by volunteer docents or Museum staff, challenge visitors to hone their observation skills.
Small-group tours take place Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9–11am (in June–July, 9:30–11am); at least two weeks' advance booking is required, with payment made in full at least one week prior to the tour. Museum staff will work with each group contact to subdivide the group as necessary to comply with state and county capacity guidelines.
Small-group tours for adults are free for Museum Members or included with general admission. The group admission rate for 10+ adults is $13/person; student discounted admission (i.e. college student with valid ID) is $10/person. Some restrictions apply.
As a safety measure during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Museum is using a Tour Mate digital group-guide system (personal audio transmitters and receivers); there is an additional $2/person charge for personal earbuds and sanitization of equipment. Small-group tours follow the Museum's temporary COVID-19 safety precautions; for more information, click here.
On the small-group tour request form, you may choose a tour of the Collection, Intersections in American Art; one of our special exhibitions; or Discovering Art, a journey through the Museum that considers how artists use the elements of art and principles of design in their work.
Have a special request? If your class or group would like a custom-designed tour or program led by our Curatorial or Learning & Engagement staff, let us know! Customized tours and programs are available for $50. Contact our Learning & Engagement Department at 828.253.3227 x122 for more details.
