Frances Mulhall Achilles Art Research Library

The Frances Mulhall Achilles Art Research Library at the Asheville Art Museum houses over 10,000 books and other archival material relevant to the Museum’s Collection of 20th- and 21st-century American art.

The Library is one of the largest resources of art publications in the region and is regularly used by staff, visitors, students, and scholars. An extensive collection of pamphlets published by galleries and museums - numbering over 2300 - is one of the Library’s especially valuable resources. The Library’s collections are non-circulating and are accessible to Museum staff, Members, and visitors.

The Library is currently closed, as we rehouse the collections in the former reading room of the Pack Library, located in the Museum's historic North Wing. Please check back here in 2019 for regular Library hours and information about making an appointment with our staff.
