Students will have an opportunity to explore creativity using unusual and found materials to create sculpture, prints and mixed media works of art.

Summer Art Camp 2025

Join us at the Museum for Summer Art Camp! Offered to rising K–12th grade students. All classes are age appropriate. Enrollment is limited, and registration is required. Registration includes Museum admission for Campers and all materials necessary for each class. Classes are offered weekly June 16–August 11, 2025. Morning (9am–noon) and Afternoon (1–4pm) sessions are offered each week of camp. Students may sign up for both Morning and Afternoon and stay for both sessions as an All Day Camper. Campers who stay All Day will break for a supervised lunch from noon-1pm.

  • Week 2: June 23–27 (Rising 3rd–5th grade)

  • Week 3: July 7–11 (Rising 9th–12th grade)
    • Morning: Watercolor Painting
    • Afternoon: Art of Paper-Cutting
  • Week 4: July 14–18 (Rising 6th–8th grade)
    • Morning: Fiber Arts
    • Afternoon: Bookmaking and Block Printing
  • Week 5: July 21–25 (Rising K–2nd grade)
    • Morning: Playful Printmaking
    • Afternoon: Color Week
  • Week 6: August 4–8 (Rising 6th–8th grade)
    • Morning: Sculpture Remixed
    • Afternoon: Natural Dyes
  • Week 7: August 11–15 (Rising 3rd–5th grade)
    • Morning: Cubism Art
    • Afternoon: Natural Dyes

Cost:

Each session (Morning or Afternoon): $150 per week; Students may sign up for both Morning and Afternoon and stay for both sessions as an All Day Camper. If you are registering your student for All Day Camp, you must register for the Morning and Afternoon sessions separately. Members receive a 10% discount. Financial Aid:

Financial Aid applications for Summer Art Camp 2025 scholarships are closed.

The Museum is committed to making our programs accessible to everyone, regardless of economic means. With support from the Walnut Cove Members Association, we are able to provide a limited amount of financial aid to help students who could not otherwise afford to enroll in our programs.


Please Note: 

  • Enrollment is not confirmed until class registration and payment are received. Places are reserved on a first-paid, first-admitted policy.
  • The Asheville Art Museum reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient registration. In such cases, all registrants will be contacted and promptly issued a full refund.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to you within two weeks of receipt of your registration form and payment.
  • Refund Policy: It is the Museum's policy to refund class registration fees up until two weeks prior to a child's entry into the class, minus a $15 processing fee. The processing fee deduction increases to $30 for cancellations made within two weeks of the start date. No refunds are made after sessions begin.
