This documentary explores the secret world of Renaldo Kuhler. For 30 years, he illustrated hundreds of specimens for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Unbeknownst to family, friends, and coworkers, he was also a prolific visionary artist who invented an imaginary country as a teenager and illustrated its history for six decades. This film project was supported by a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation.
Staff from the Museum will help introduce the film and participate in a Q&A following the screening.
