Donald R. Davis

Don Davis (1948- ) was born in Jacksonville, FL.   A sculptor and ceramics artist,  he currently resides Johnson City, Tennessee, where he operates his own pottery studio and teaches.  He is known for his functional yet unique pieces such as teapots, vases, and bowls.  Davis served as the Director of the Odyssey Center for the Ceramic Arts in Asheville from 1995-96.   He has taught workshops and college sessions for over 25 years  He has exhibited at Belk Gallery, Western Carolina University; Arian Gallery, Royal Oaks, MI; "International Ceramics," Mino, Japan and the Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art, Greensboro, NC. His work is included in the permanent collection of several museums, corporations, and schools such as the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC; the Shirakawa Central Public Hall in Japan, ther Asheville Art Museum and the Rhode Island School of Design.
